But by after their record label became unhappy with the lack of single choices for the group, Liberty X were dropped. So, just what have they been up to? Initially after Liberty X split in , Michelle reportedly signed a two album deal with Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment. But she decided to walk out on the deal just two months later, opting for a career in television over music. It saw her come full circle back to a talent show, but this time on the other side of the audition room table.
Shortly after, though, her two-year marriage to Andy Scott-Lee came to an end. So then Michelle hit the bottle. Don't worry, it was for ITV's documentary The Truth About Binge Drinking , where she was tasked to drink above the recommended amount of alcohol for 30 days.
She soon pulled out though, after suffering heart palpitations and gaining weight. Let that be a warning to us all. Shortly after, though, came her funniest TV moment to date. Michelle featured on the second season finale of The Apprentice in Ireland, helping eventual winner Steve Rayner to unveil a new Ford Fiesta at his launch party. But when it came to pulling the sheet off the vehicle, she got her foot caught and literally fell flat.
Incredible scenes. As well as Liberty X's brief reunion in , Michelle has toured the UK as part of a handful of stage productions, most recently starring as Aladdin in pantomime in Harpenden.
Oh, and the Geordie is also pushing herself as a vlogstar these days, regularly posting updates on her official YouTube channel. There was also her brief stint moonlighting as a member of Atomic Kitten. No seriously. Why Liz McClarnon wasn't there we're not sure, but the girl insisted the show went ahead with her blessing.
After leaving Liberty X behind, Kevin immediately put all his effort into making solo music. Befitting for the time, he launched a MySpace page and continually promised fans they'd be hearing new tunes soon. And they did. But only in Japan, where his first collection Brand New was released. Don't scoff just yet, though, because it actually did alright, peaking at number 12 in the world's second biggest music market. He's big in Japan. Outside the music, Kevin popped up in a number of reality formats - especially if they were downright physical.
First came 's The Games admittedly when he was still in the band , which saw him face off against former Popstars rival and Hear'Say member Danny Foster. Kev was fully on board for the Liberty X reunion in , but returned to his day job as a wedding photographer after their one-off show at the Big Reunion concert.
He didn't give up the singing, though, and continued to update his YouTube channel with covers. It put him in very good stead for what happened next.
Their third full-length, X , was released in Despite the fact that it spawned another two additional Top 10 singles for the group, it became their least successful album to date. The third single to be released from the album was the title track "X", but due to lack of proper promotion, it peaked at Their album, X , peaked at 27 in October of and sold over 50, copies. In May of the band announced that they were splitting up stating that the music world had "changed too much since we began".
