It's not that this is out of character - as mentioned in the episode, she still believes in Santa - but it feels like a disservice to Brittany. It's fine for her to be adorably dumb, prone to saying silly things, but it feels like it's being pushed too far when she's asking for wishes, and believing that they're coming true. Anyway, Rory's keen to go along with Brittany, because she's promised that he can get into her "pot of gold" if he grants her three wishes unfortunately, we never find out what this actually is - I'm betting it's not a "snog" like Rory believes.
Her first wish is for a box of Lucky Charms made entirely of marshmallows, so Rory gets down to some serious separating. It turns out that Rory's time at McKinley isn't great - he might be living with Brittany, but he's getting bullied. A lot. Luckily, Finn's there to offer to be his friend - but he needs something in return.
He's heard Mercedes trying to persuade Santana to join the rival glee club, but Santana will only go if Brittany does. Rory agrees to tell Finn if he hears anything. When Rory delivers the marshmallow Lucky Charms, Brittany wishes again - for her cat to poop candy bars yes, I know. It's annoying. Rory asks her to dinner, but Brittany already has plans. Rory will settle for a kiss on the cheek, but when Brittany leaves he's again pushed against a wall - time for his first musical number!
He walks around singing 'Bein' Green' - yes, the Kermit the Frog song. But it works, oddly. Brittany, of course, is on a date with Santana. Except is it a date? Santana wants to have "the talk" - are they dating? Well, Brittany certainly seems to think so. Santana's tearing up because she's so happy though she also discovers that Brittany thinks Rory is a leprechaun. She moots the possibility of Brittany joining Shelby's glee club, but Brittany needs time to think - she doesn't want to be known as a quitter.
Then they hold hands - under a napkin. Naya Rivera is reliably brilliant. Rivera is at her best, obviously, with angry Santana. After Blaine leads the glee club in a rendition of 'Last Friday Night' to bring them all together, she's annoyed - she can tell that it's going to be the Rachel and Blaine show all year. But she's got a plan - she corners poor Rory and says that while he might not really be a leprechaun, he's going to grant her a wish. Santana's lovably snarly, isn't she?
Rory ends up putting chocolate in Lord Tubbington's litter tray sigh and when Brittany arrives she's thrilled. But Rory has to tell her that Santana found out he was a leprechaun and wished that Brittany would leave New Directions and join Shelby's club. Brittany is conflicted, but she has no choice - wishes definitely have to come true, right? Rory's a good boy at heart and immediately runs to tell Finn what's happened.
Finn goes to confront Brittany and Santana sparking a whole list of bizarre, stinging insults from Santana - "bacon wrapped, bug eyed hypocrite" is just the tip of the iceberg. When he hears Brittany's quitting New Directions because of a wish he snaps - and calls her an idiot. That's that - Brittany says it's mean and bullying and she won't accept it. Quinn hid items such as hot sauce in the kitchen cabinet and baby botox in the bathroom in hopes she could prove Shelby is an unfit mother even though she isn't.
Puck stops by later and secretly grabs all the anti child products Quinn has hid around the house and places them into his pockets. Shelby sets up a job for Puck at for her condo's pool and he gets it. He stops by to say thanks, waking up Beth from her sleep.
He grabs his guitar and calms Beth as he plays. Shelby smiles at him. Puck sets down the guitar and walks with Shelby over to the crib to place Beth into. Their eyes then met and at the end of the episode Puck and Shelby share a dramatic kiss. Pot o' Gold. At the beginning of the episode, Puck is seen fantasizing about Shelby as he performs Hot for Teacher. Some time later, she is seen approaching Will in the teacher's lounge.
She assures Will that she kept her promise not to recruit any of the New Direction members. It is then revealed that they already received their letters with the information that they will compete against each other.
After class, Puck tells Shelby that he is in love with her. Her response was "Oh God. Puck pushes further describing his dream of taking pictures for their Hanukkah cards or renting an RV to head out as a family to Coachella. Puck says "you know this is going to happen" and winks at her before leaving the classroom. Later, while in the auditorium, Rachel approached Shelby so she can sign the recommendation letter Rachel has written ahead. Shelby praised Rachel's CV and expressed her support for her.
Rachel then asked Shelby if she could write the recommendation herself, to which she agreed. At the Troubletones' rehearsal room, she is seen warming up the group. Mercedes arrived and suggested an Adele mash-up and Shelby though it was a great idea. When Santana and Mercedes argued, Mercedes self-nominated herself as Troubletones' president and Shelby and the girls vote in favor of her. Later in the week, Puck comes over to help Shelby put together the crib, but ends up playing with Beth the entire time.
Shelby watches the father-daughter interaction intently and smiles. She tells Puck how good he is with Beth.
Puck eventually spills the truth about Quinn's plot to try to get Beth back. Quinn comes to Shelby's house bringing a present for Beth. Shelby is outraged about finding out that Quinn tried to take Beth away from her. She tells Quinn that it doesn't matter whose body she came out of but how you put yourself second. She then asks Quinn to leave. Mash Off. Quinn wants to tell Principal Figgins about Puck's affair with Shelby, continuously giving hints to Shelby.
Then, at Sectionals, while The Troubletones perform, Shelby tells her that it was a mistake and that she thought it would make her feel younger, but it just made her feel older.
Then Shelby leaves saying that she was going to enjoy her last moments of being a teacher, she obviously would prefer to quit than be fired under such circumstances. After the Troubletones join the New Directions , nothing is known of what happened to Shelby afterwards. Hold on to Sixteen. Shelby and Rachel about to perform Next to Me.
When Will asks how April Rhodes and Holly Holliday know each other, Holly mentions that there is a Facebook page for people who were guests for the New Directions , which included Shelby. They make out in Hell-O , but Shelby pulls back when she finds out he's just divorcing his wife. She suggest him to call her as soon as he sorted everything out. In Season Three, their Glee Clubs compete against each other.
When Shelby comes back to Lima, she lets Puck see Beth, and then she falls for him while he is singing Waiting for a Girl Like You and they share a kiss. Puck tries to pursue Shelby for a couple episodes and succeeds, but after sleeping together, Shelby calls it a mistake and ends their relationship. I want you to look so talented, it's hurting you, I want a look so optimistic it could cure cancer.
I failed as an actress. My walls are lined with trophies instead of wedding pictures. But through all of that, I only have one regret. You get her to listen to that tape! Ladies, I don't want to hear complaints about chafing because you're being forced to wear metal underwear. First step to becoming an adult, stop punishing yourself for things you did when you were a child.

I can laugh at myself. I just wish that we could laugh at everyone instead of trying to single out one group. I stopped watching simply because it stop being about the music.
They changed lyrics for Gold Digger. Apologize if it is full of grammar errors. I mean, there was a discussion of of scissoring that I had to beg out of explaining to my mother, as I was visiting when I covered that particular episode. The show has always brought up sex and stuff without anyone batting an eye. I know a lot of people who watch this show with their kids, or let their kids watch it themselves. Ivey, I completely missed the scissor reference.
That must have been something to have to explain to Mom! I agree, the show has brought up sex in the past.
