Defy which kernel

Give it a try! I cant stand blur lol. I am running CM Hangs up pretty frequently and have to remove battery to reset it. I will give the CM Not a whole lot of options I have here until When the Wifi is on on my Defy, it some how interferes with my computer's Wifi and causes my computer Wifi to not work at all.

It was a bit frustrating so I ended up using 3G instead lol. I would report this problem but since I am new I can't post in the development forum. Ok, CM Thanks for your help ToMpI I think I am all set to go. You should try it.

I am using it for 2 weeks and I'm totally satisfied with it. But I have forgotten, how or what was to do oO I wouldn't try it, cause I am too afraid to do something wrong and brick. Other possible problems, i thinnk can appeare are: -Battery not loading, due to different battery properties -Camera Problems I would recommend, to wait these days until a new defy build appears.

This will be optimised for the "normal" defy. I also heard people are experiencing problems with build And if you have defy green lense your camera wont work. If i do that ,i will lose my camera? Im scared. Hey guys, My wife was complaning about her Defy being slow so i dediced to take a look and install a custom rom.

I'm seeing froyo and GB kernel, what is the difference between them? Which kernel should i use for my Defy? The roms are kernel specific? If i have froyo or GB kernel, i can't use some roms? And lastly, which roms you guys recommend? Thanks in advance! ICS and GB kernel.. Go through guides and threads and i m sure u will understand better.. ICS is under development.

Please hit the Thanks button if this was useful. In this kernel there it's only support for the red lens module. So you can't use your cam on this kernel. A ROM made for one kernel can't be used on an other. The other thing is the battery. I can't find any I rooted the device using super one click v1. My Moto Defy has a green lens and I later came to know that I shouldn't have flashed a rom of moto defy plus to a moto defy device especially with a green lens as it is not at all supported by moto defy plus roms.

Unfortunately I cannot also downgrade back to a stock moto defy rom now and I have lost my camera for pictures as well as video. Does anyone know a workaround for this or any other stable custom rom for moto defy plus which can work with green as well as red lens. My phone at the moment post rooting and flashing new rooted rom is recognised as a Moto Defy Plus with the Android Version 2. If anyone knows a work around to get the camera working again it would be very helpful Thanks in advance What rooted ROM did you flash?

Was it a full SBF.? Also post your build number. Hi and Thanks for your quick reply Unfortunately after doing this I read about green lens and red lens article and thought of downgrading but could not downgrade My present Build number is- 4.

You cannot downgrade and your camera most probably will not work ever. So the ROMs that you are using should be compatable with the same kernel. This is ROM compatibility. What ROMs are compatible? Sure you can. Can I have an SBF as 2nd boot? No, you cant. But you can have an Nandroid backup of an SBF as 2nd boot.

Can't I just install a new kernel for the other OS in case of incompatibility? Well, you cant. You cant. Why not? Defy has a locked bootloader. You have blown an efuse that won't permit you to downgrade to that kernel. No, you wont. Efuses blow when you upgrade your firmware via RSDlite.

CWM can't blow efuses. Is all this safe? No, it's not safe. You are doing this at your own risk. Will I void my warranty? No, not if you are using CWM. What is my stock SBF? Look for it in the SBF thread. Can I kiss you? Well, only if you are a girl.

If you are a guy you can always click on that thanks button. Note : The Eclair kernel for Android 2. What is nand i m new to multiboot so are other new users 2. We have 2. And add link to kernel. I'll add preferred links later. I'm doing this for charity. Don't command me. Excellent job there!

I will have to come up with better names for the kernels. You are right about that. But I'm sure I typed in cm7. If you check the links they are right. Maybe the "plus sign" disappered when adding the hyperlinked I'm sure of that now cuz it disappeard in this post too.

I should proof readed anyway. Will edit the post tomorrow cuz I can't edit such a big post from phone. So those who need it can view it Hi! I have a huge problem!!! Please help me guys!

What is the solution for this? I wish I had a usable Defy with a stock rom. But the most important is the usability! Thanks for your help! Have a nice day! Well you can flash Gingerbread rom and kernel and you will no longer have ICS. There are usually dependencies between kernEL and non kernEL code - non kernEl code is referred to as "userspace" Typically you can't just swap a kernel meant for one version of android with another, unless the manufacturer has done a great job of abstraction.

Not so in the case of most phones. So I have heard that the original kernel of Froyo 2. Well, the kernel seems to have got an update in the Gingerbread version 2. The question is, can you overclock the stock Gingerbread kernel 2.

To use a OC app you need a kernel with OC capabilities. That's exactly what I am asking. Is the official Gingerbread original kernel 2. Froyo one 2. Galaxy Tab 8.
